What happened

Mark and Dean Voss crossed paths at Caulfield Town Hall for the pre-card walk-through. Voss broke off, stood next to Mark at the apron, low enough only he could hear: 'Briggs says your shoulder doesn't extend past round four. I'm counting.' Mark didn't blink. 'Good,' he said. Voss smiled, tapped the apron twice, walked back to his corner. In the car park, Tom Vass texted: 'Lev's been seen at Voss's gym three times this week.' Mark reread it twice, sat in the ute, drove to Apex without replying. The rivalry had a face. The threat had a date. He taped tighter and ran the bait pattern into the heavy bag.
