What happened
Bigger story: In Ray's kitchen, Mark announces that he will confront Lachlan Reid before Ray's deed deadline, but Ray shoves him hard against the table and orders him to leave the old swimming history buried. The docket skids to the floor between them, exposing Ray's private knowledge that the missing material belongs to Northshore Swimming Club, not merely to Reid's demolition office. Mark does not hit back; he picks up the paper and sees a handwritten clearance number matching the loading yard's gate log. He leaves with the number and a new decision: he will find the dismissed workers Reid believes can be separated and paid individually.
