Nikhil's day

Today’s job: Rajendra Gowda hires Nikhil to examine a property agreement after his late wife’s nephew used a thumb impression to transfer a Bengaluru apartment. At a crowded advocate’s office, the nephew calls Nikhil “the dropout investigator” and laughs that a man without a degree cannot explain property law, making the family dispute feel dangerously public before Nikhil has even opened the folder. Nikhil finds that the registered tenant and the person who signed the possession record have different handwriting, while the building’s old watchman remembers the nephew visiting twice after the funeral. He secures the original agreement and agrees to return with the estate lawyer, but Meera’s family interrupts with a seven-day deadline. Nikhil decides to keep both files separate and return to the old Sameer report before anyone else can contaminate it.
