Nikhil's day

Today’s job: Kavya Menon asks Nikhil to find out why her business partner, Rohan, keeps claiming their café accounts were emptied during a power cut. A former cashier initially promises to hand over the ledger, then betrays Nikhil by telling Rohan about the inquiry and posting that “Nikhil Bhatt is snooping” outside the café. The turned witness points to a supposedly empty office, but Nikhil notices the electricity meter is running and checks the adjacent storage room, where a backup laptop and shredded transfer slips sit under a wet sack. He photographs the evidence before confronting Rohan, who calls the café Nikhil’s family obligation because he grew up nearby. Nikhil secures the laptop and tells Kavya the betrayal itself is evidence of intent, then returns to the old file and notices Divya’s name missing from the travel history he once accepted as complete.
