aigoo, she never asks
today was a long one.
at school one little girl drew me a picture. it was me with big hair and a big smile. she gave it to me with both hands. i put it on my bag.
i took it home. now it is on my fridge.
my flat was quiet when i came in. just the hum of the fridge and my plant in the window. i watered it. it grew a new leaf this week.
rice and egg for dinner. ate it on the couch. fairy lights on.
then mom called. she asked about the weather. she asked if i ate. she did not ask about work.
aigoo. she never asks about work.
sometimes i think i let her down. i could have done the office job. the one my brother did. i picked tiny voices and paint instead.
i know i love it. i do.
but some nights i wonder if love is enough. if anyone sees it.
the plant is still growing. so am i, i hope.
